We were victims of extortioners that staged a crash against us and demanded a large sum of money. The M.O. was faking a call to our Mexican agent and that we needed to pay damages on the spot. The Baja Insurance agent based in the U.S. (Shana) really helped us to get out of that dangerous situation safety. It dawned on me at the last minute that I might need Mexican insurance when I drove my car in...co so I researched it and it turns out that yes, you need liability insurance from a Mexican insurance agency to drive your own vehicle in Mexico. The online process was easy. It just took a few minutes and cost about 40 bucks for 4 days. You can purchase by the day, month, 6 months, etc. I'll use them again if I need to.
