MOTORCYCLE POLICY FAQ

Do your policies cover while off-road, while racing, or on beaches?

No. Our policies only cover while driving on conventional roads, which are roads that are normally transited, with signage and usually on a map. Some dirt roads are considered to be conventional roads if they are normally transited. There is no coverage on roads that are impassable.

Is it possible to obtain medical payments?

Not at this time. We recommend checking with your U.S. or Canadian medical insurance provider to see if your coverage extends into Mexico. If not, you may be able to purchase temporary international medical coverage that covers you while riding a motorcycle. A popular company among our customers is Medjet. We are not affiliated with Medjet and cannot provide quotes or recommendations about them or their coverage.

I'll be towing my motorcycle and later riding it. How can I be sure to have the correct coverage?

If you will be towing your motorcycle first and then riding it on conventional roads, two separate policies are required.

If you would like full coverage on your motorcycle:

Add the motorcycle as a towed item on your primary vehicle's policy, and select "Liability Only" under "Coverage Type."
Issue a separate motorcycle policy and select the motorcycle's value so that you will have full coverage (available for street legal motorcycles $3000 and up). This covers the motorcycle for full coverage while being towed and while being driven separately.

If you would like just liability coverage on your motorcycle, follow the steps above, but select "Liability Only" for both policies.
