How to File an Auto Claim

Do you need to report a claim to either HDI Seguros or Chubb Seguros? It's important to file the claim as soon as possible and before leaving Mexico.

All claims must be reported before you leave the Republic of Mexico.
Any claim not reported may be subject to denial.

To report an accident:

Call the police:

Call 911.
Ask for a "perito" (police investigator).
Wait for the investigator to arrive.
Do not move the vehicles, if possible.

Call the insurance company:

Report your claim as soon as possible and before leaving Mexico.
Have your insurance policy handy.
A representative will ask you questions about the event.
You may need to wait for an adjuster and obtain a report.
Take note of your claim number.

Tips:

Do not accept money from others involved in the accident.
Keep all documentation given to you.
Obtain all reports before leaving Mexico to prevent payment delays or having to return to Mexico.

Call the insurance company:

Report your claim as soon as possible and before leaving Mexico.
Have your insurance policy handy.
A representative will ask you questions about the event.
Take note of your claim number.
The company will likely assign a representative to meet you and help with police reports.
