Hi! We’re Kristina and Michael, originally of Off Path Travels, and now the couple behind BajaCampgrounds.com - a curated directory of campgrounds and RV parks across the Baja Peninsula. Baja is both our home and our heart, and this project grew naturally out of years of travel, shared memories, and lived experience.
I’m Kristina. Baja runs deep in my roots. My family is from here, I’m bilingual, and I’ve been camping on the peninsula since I was five years old. I grew up spending weekends on Baja beaches and dusty back roads, collecting family stories tied to places many visitors only pass through once. I care deeply about sharing an honest, grounded picture of life and tourism in Mexico, and protecting what makes this place special.
I’m Michael. I grew up in Colorado, where camping, hiking, and exploring shaped who I am. The outdoors has always been central to my life. When Kristina introduced me to Baja in 2016, it opened an entirely new world of adventure and possibility.
Together, we stepped away from traditional 9–5 lives and chose the road instead. We traveled slowly through Baja, much of Mexico, and beyond. No matter how far we went, Baja always pulled us back: for family, for adventure, and eventually, for home. Today, we live in Baja California Sur.

Along the way, we met incredible people around campfires and on remote beaches. We wanted a simple way to stay connected, share real updates, and help newcomers feel confident traveling here. That’s how our Facebook group, Baja Camping & RV, began. It quickly became a place where fellow campers share road conditions, water and weather tips, safety insights, and hard-earned lessons about being a respectful guest in Mexico.

We kept seeing the same questions come up: Where can I camp? Which RV parks have hookups? Do I need reservations? How do I find reliable information without scrolling through hundreds of posts and pins?

That’s why we built BajaCampgrounds.com. It’s a free, easy-to-use directory and planning tool made specifically for Baja travelers. It features an interactive map, detailed listings of the best paid campgrounds and RV parks, and community-driven reviews, photos, and updates. Everything is carefully curated, trustworthy, and focused on helping people camp responsibly in Baja.

Because we live here, much of what we share comes directly from everyday life. We believe deeply in keeping Baja special by encouraging Leave No Trace practices, respecting local communities, and supporting tourism that grows in a healthy, sustainable way. We want these beaches, deserts, and mountain roads to remain beautiful and welcoming for future travelers and for the people who call Baja home.

If you see us out there, say “hola”. You’ll probably find us chasing a quiet sunrise, a mountain hike, or a surf break: and we’d love to hear your story.
