On October 1, 2009, HDI-Gerling International Holding AG acquired Genworth Seguros as part of their global expansion strategy and to expand their presence in the Latin American market. HDI Seguros offers the same great service and coverage that you have experienced with Genworth Seguros, only the name has changed.

With this change, Genworth Seguros is now part of the HDI-Gerling International Holding AG family of Talanx companies which in 2008 reported $27.5 billion dollars of premium business and is one of the most important insurance companies in Europe. HDI Seguros' History

HDI, a German insurance company of world prestige, acquired Genworth Seguros Mexico in 2009 to offer innovative products and services backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, thus becoming HDI Seguros.

Genworth Seguros Mexico was established as Seguros del Centro, in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, in 1943. In December 1996, it became an affiliated company of General Electric and adopted the name GE Seguros. In 2004, it became part of Genworth Financial, a leading company in the U.S. and 24 other countries.

HDI’s strategy is to grow in countries with strong development capacity, and has decided, as part of its global expansion plan, to enter into the Mexican market, and build on Genworth Seguros’ structure, soundness and prestige to initiate development plans in this country.
