Located just a half hour south of the border, Rosarito has turned into a prime destination for Americans interested in taking advantage of the exploding real estate market in Mexico. Rosarito Beach is at the center of Baja's scenic Gold Coast, which stretches from the border to Ensenada. Being that Rosarito is a bit further from the border, many residents here make fewer trips to the U.S. than residents who live in Tijuana.
Rosarito features wide, sandy beaches, several world class surfing spots, golfing, great dining, lots of shopping and a variety of nightlife. Nearby attractions include the world famous "lobster village" of Puerto Nuevo and Fox Studios Baja where movies such as Master and Commander and Titanic were filmed. Rosarito is famous for its handcrafted, solid wood furniture.
Rosarito's commercial development has also increased in recent months and residents will find a large variety of stores including Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Comercial Mexicana, Ford, and Express Tire. Franchise restaurants in Rosarito include Applebee's and McDonald's, but don't forget the famous tacos stands Tacos el Yaqui and Tacos Baja Jr! Rosarito also has brand new movie theaters, Cinepolis.
Many types of homes are available in Rosarito. Options include high rise and low rise condos, single family homes, and condo-hotels.
