Just a few hours from San Diego is a great get away for a long weekend. Don Eddie’s Landing offers the best fishing, long range tuna trips, combined with spacious hotel rooms, restaurant bar and generous RV parking. Tony Marquez will be there to welcome you, following in his father’s footsteps. Add to this the sparkling Bay of San Quintín where year round fishing invites you to leave behind the daily stress. Cast a line out and relax or bring your favorite book, letting the gentle water sounds transport you to a different time and space.
So many features will entice you to enjoy a long beautiful weekend filled with fresh air, outdoor actives, homemade meals and frosty cocktails at the bar. Sitting at the window booths you look out onto the bay, while waiting to be served the catch of the day. Tony has added many unique dishes to his menu. He, along with his young chef are ready to share the locally grown produce adding a gourmet touch. Vegetarians are going to appreciate the stuffed squash and an array of other fresh vegetables to choose from. The breakfast omelette stuffed with shrimp and crab is slathered in a rich creamy sauce, served with side dishes galore. The lunch special features a smoked fish taco with melted cheese and the flavor is to die for. If you want to invite two hundred of your favorite people to celebrate your big catch of the day, Tony is happy to set up a feast out on the patio. The newly finished patio bar on the second story is a great place to take in the sunshine, watch the pelicans dive and sea lions slip through the water. Having the bar just steps from your room or your RV, allows the celebration to go on into the evening without second thoughts or a designated driver.
For activities, there is more than fishing. Diving enthusiasts are provided services and boat excursions. Kayakers will love the beautiful open bay and its gentle rolling hills that help protect the inland waters from the Pacific winds. This is a perfect place to roll in from a day of dirt biking, clean up and lift a cold cerveza or two. There is a Halibut tournament in June and even a little hunting if that is your trip. Quail and Canadian Geese are found on the island. Fishing and hunting licenses are required. There are whale watching excursions during migration season. Twenty RV spaces have full hook-ups, concrete pads and lots of space between each site. Casitas have the full range of options from 2 to 4 beds and a junior suite. The arrangement of living space will make you feel like you are at home and it is pet friendly. And now that the road out to the bay has been paved, you no longer have to worry about the mud during the rainy season. You will receive the warmest of welcomes any time of year.
