Registration with the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana makes your presence and whereabouts known in case it is necessary for a consular officer to contact you or a relative in an emergency. During an unforeseen occurrence, American consular officers could assist you if it was necessary. We cannot assist if we do not know where you are. Registration is particularly important for those who are permanent residents in the states of Baja California.
