Imagine yourself walking slowly down a rose petal strewn arched pathway toward your one true love surrounded by 70 acres of vineyards, olive trees and a field of lavender. In the background, a graceful Tuscan style villa sits atop the hill, flanked by valley and mountains. Watching happily are over 100 of your closest relatives and friends, eager to witness the moment when bride and groom at last say, "I do."
This is not Italy, however - nor would such an exquisite wedding be out of your price range. Welcome to La Villa Del Valle, a Mediterranean style retreat located in the heart of Baja California's Valle de Guadalupe. Only 90 minutes by car from San Diego, this peaceful family owned ranch offers world class service, gourmet cuisine, locally grown wines and an enchanting setting for the wedding of your dreams.
When Eileen and Phil Gregory discovered the magic of Valle de Guadalupe nearly a decade ago, they were struck by the feeling that they had stumbled upon a mythical place. They built their spacious villa with the vision of creating a fusion of Mexico and the Mediterranean, offering their guests the best of both worlds.
Many possible venues exist on this property for a your wedding ceremony. The spacious villa itself is decorated in calming, neutral colors and features woven rugs, washed walls, stone floors and Mexican tin lamps. The vineyard and outdoor gardens provide other lovely options. Post-nuptual cocktails are served by the sparkling clean swimming pool, followed by dinner in one of three scenic locations to be selected by the bride and groom.
Members of your immediate wedding party such as parents of the bride and groom will enjoy the comfortable and luxurious accommodations at La Villa Del Valle. The six large bedrooms are decorated in a modern hacienda style flavored with contemporary Mexican art. Three of these rooms possess their own balconies with Mexican chimeneas. All are named with love for the friends who helped the Gregorys to turn their vision of La Villa Del Valle into a reality.
From bocce ball to swimming, roaming in fruit orchards and gardens, to walking the labyrinth, time spent by wedding guests at La Villa Del Valle is guaranteed to be calming, restorative and romantic. The bride and groom will be assured of restful slumber, thanks to the villa policy that all guests refrain from bringing their children and pets. There are also no televisions on the premises.
The wedding banquet will be prepared with love by the Villa's own star chef, V. Omar Garcia Salazar. Turning to his own organic herb and vegetable gardens, orchard and flock of araucana chickens, Chef Omar melds together magical combinations of citrus, herbs and chiles. As he told Barbara Thornburg of the Los Angeles Times, "Cada dia yo invento" (Every day I invent) by combining Mediterranean food with "la toque Mexicana".* (The Mexican touch.)
La Villa Del Valle offers its own private label, Vena Cava, in addition to many other delicious locally grown wines. Internationally known for its exceptional wines, the Valle de Guadalupe has a vibrant, evolving gastronomic culture ranging from wine to artisinal cheeses and spicy chocolate. Wedding guests will particularly love the Villa's signature polvorones, traditional Mexican wedding cookies infused with fresh rosemary grown organically in their herb garden.
This charming Baja California bed and breakfast provides a backdrop of classic beauty, elegance and romance for the five star wedding you have always fantasized about. The only challenge that comes with getting married at La Villa Del Valle is that you will never want to leave!
