About Ensenada
The port town of Ensenada, known as the "Cinderella of the Pacific" is located roughly one hour south
of the San Diego/Tijuana border. This historic region of Baja was first discovered by Don Juan Rodriguez
in 1542 and has since established a bustling fishing industry and become a popular tourist destination.
Whether you are looking to get away from it all or have a night out on the town, Ensenada has a lot to
offer. To the northeast of Ensenada is the Valle de Guadalupe wine country that produces the majority of
Mexican wines. Valle de Guadalupe is quickly gaining notoriety on both sides of the border for their
excellent varietals. Just off the coast of Ensenada are the Islas de Todos Santos which has one of the
most famous big-wave surfing spots in the world. Recently, San Diego’s own Brad Gerlach won $68,000
($1000 per foot) for towing into a huge wave at Todos Santos in the 2005-06 Billabong XXL Challenge.
Ensenada is also host to several annual sporting events each year including the Newport to Ensenada
Yacht Race, the Rosarito Ensenada 50 Mile Fun Bike Ride and the Estero Beach Volleyball Tournament.
If you are looking for a night out there are numerous great bars and restaurants to fulfill your
epicurean pleasures. Hussongs Cantina is one of the oldest establishments in the region, having opened
their doors in the late 1800’s. A short drive south of Ensenada is the second largest natural blowhole
in North America aptly called La Bufadora. The blowhole is a popular attraction for tourists and locals
alike, who come to watch huge plumes of water blast 70 feet into the air.

Ensenada has numerous attractive beach front and ocean view real estate opportunities
available. Because of the circumstances surrounding the neighboring region of Punta Banda,
the real estate market in Ensenada is between 30 to 50 percent cheaper than Rosarito and San
Felipe. The huge surge in interest from Americans and recent changes in foreign investment
