On my Mexican auto insurance policy it says "Medical Expenses for Occupants." What exactly does that cover?

In case of an automobile accident, Mexican auto insurance policies cover medical expenses up to the limits on the policy. These limits are usually either $2,000 per person up to $10,000 per accident or $5,000 per person up to $25,000 per accident (motorcycle policies are NOT eligible for medical expenses). The coverage includes hospitalization, medical attention, nursing, ambulance service and funeral expenses. If you require more coverage, your U.S. medical policy may kick in if it covers you into Mexico. It does not cover any other types of accidents.
