Mushrooms is a short, hollow righthander just north of Calafia. When it is on, you can pull in on the takeoff, get barreled and then do a couple of turns before the wave fades out. Mushrooms is recommended for experienced surfers only and works best on a south/southwest and a medium tide. Unfortunately, all of the recent housing development here is most likely going to cut off beach access to surfers in the near future. So get on it while you still can...or pony up the money for a condo with an ocean view of this fun little nugget of a wave.
